  1. Can you do any combination of A levels?

    Posted by GuestK754, 16/10/2020 at 18:04

    1. Hello. Yes, you can choose any combination of A levels. Some students tend to favour sciences or humanities, for instance, but you can choose any combination.

      1. For the personal statement, can I write it on a full sized piece of paper or am I limited to the space provided on the application

        1. Please feel free to write as much as you need to do tell us about you.

        2. Just wondering if current KES year 11 pupils are given an application to complete or if applications are online?

          Posted by GuestK763, 16/10/2020 at 18:59

          1. Current Year 11 pupils don't need to fill in a form to join Year 12, although they do need to achieve the same points total at GCSE as those applying from other schools. The vast majority of our Year 11s do move through to Year 12 but, if you are not planning on continuing to the Sixth Form, please do let us know.
There will be a 'Choices Evening' in the Spring Term when you will be able to tell us which subjects you want to take at A Level.

          2. Do you you a breakdown of university entry by subject? I'm keen to know if you are particularly successful in certain subjects eg for Oxbridge

            Posted by Guest349, 16/10/2020 at 19:13

            1. For Oxford and Cambridge over the last two years we have had students go on to study Natural/Materials Sciences, Computer Science, Modern Languages, Social and Political Sciences, History, Classics, English, Medicine, Law. If you have a particular focus, please email admissions@kesbath.com and we will get back to you next week.

We enjoy equal success at many other universities for a very wide range of subjects and courses and we can give you information on that as well. Students choose according to their interests so some courses and institutions are more popular in some years than others.

Not everyone goes on to university and some will choose Art foundation courses or employment.

            2. Do you offer any subjects at AS? And if you do Spanish for a year can you take an alternative qualification at the end of that year such as the Spanish for business exams that test fluency

              Posted by Guest349, 16/10/2020 at 19:15

              1. The only AS subject we offer in the timetable is Electronics. Most of our students go on to courses after Year 13 that have grade offers and not points offers but if you have a particular interest and want to study a subject in your own time, we are happy to act as an exam centre.

              2. How many hours of sport are there each week?

                Posted by Guest349, 16/10/2020 at 19:16

                1. There are 4 hours of timetabled sport per fortnight. There are also 2 training sessions as well as fixtures.
